Hans Sy is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SMPH) and Adviser to the Board of SM Investments Corporation. SM Prime, which was incorporated in the Philippines in 1994, is one of the largest integrated property developers in Southeast Asia. Under Hans Sy’s leadership as its President till September 2016, SM Prime grew exponentially through offering of innovative and sustainable lifestyle cities integrating malls, residences, offices, hotels and convention centers.

Hans is also engaged in the management of some of the oldest institutions in the country.  He is the Chairman of China Banking Corporation, which turns 100 years old by 2020, and of the National University founded in 1900.

He is actively pushing for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) through collaborative efforts on Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) in the Philippines.  Currently, he sits in the Global Board of ARISE Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (UNDRR).  He is the Co-Chairman of the National Resilience Council (NRC), a private-public sector initiative whose goal is to strengthen resilience of Local Government Units (LGUs) towards disaster-resilient Philippines.

Mr. Sy holds a B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree from De La Salle University.

V/Adm Pama or Alex is a former Navy officer who retired from the service in 2012 as the 32nd Flag Officer-in-Command of the Philippine Navy. He was then appointed Undersecretary in the Office of the President and concurrently the Executive Director of the National Coast Watch Council Secretariat. Subsequently in 2014, he was designated Undersecretary in the DND and as the Executive Director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC)and Administrator, Office of Civil defense (OCD).

He is presently the Disaster Resilience Consultant for SM Prime where among other functions, he  provides advice and inputs to the Chair of the Executive Committee of SMPHI in his personal and the company’s various international and local Disaster Resilience advocacies and DRR programs. He is concurrently, a Consultant in the National Resilience Council (NRC) where he, provides advice and significant inputs to the Council on matters particularly related to disaster risk governance by LGUs along the lines of its public-private partnership with select partner LGUs.

Concurrently, Alex is also an Adjunct Professor at the Asian Institute of Management’s EMDRCM program as well as a Lecturer at the Ateneo de Manila Master’s Degree in DRRM. He sits as a member of the Board  in various Boards such as: Central Philippine University Corporation, Oscar M Lopez Center Foundation, ReStart Me Foundation and quite recently the Weather Philippines Foundation.

During his watch at OCD/NDRRMC, then USEC Pama introduced and institutionalized various policies, programs and processes which significantly improved the country’s DRRM system, such as the institutionalization of the PDRA, the ICS, a more robust Private-Public Partnership in DRR and Resilience advocacies and endeavors.

Alex, both a Certified Public Accountant and lawyer, is the Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC Philippines since 2013. He specializes in tax planning, business restructuring and reorganizations, and integrated tax, legal, and accounting advice. He attended business courses at Harvard Business School, Wharton University, and IESE Business School.

He is also a board member in PwC’s Southeast Asia Regional Consulting practice and is the managing partner of Cabrera & Company.

He is Chairman of the Integrity Initiative Inc. (II, Inc.), the Management Association of the Philippines’ (MAP) Tax Committee, and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (PICPA) Taxation and Legislation Committee.

Alex has been named CEO of the Year at the Asia Leaders Awards 2019. He received the Outstanding CPA in Public Practice Award in 2015 and as Young Achiever in Public Practice Award in 1998 from PICPA. His Sunday column in the ​Philippine STAR​, “As easy as ABC”, has been a three-time finalist at the Catholic Mass Media Awards.

Dr. Kenneth Hartigan-Go is currently the Head of the Stephen Zuellig Graduate School of Development Management at the Asian Institute of Management.

He was Philippine Department of Health Undersecretary (2015-2016); Director General of Food and Drugs Administration (October 2012- October 2014); Deputy Director Bureau of Food and Drugs (1999-2001).  He was the founding Executive Director of the Zuellig Foundation from 2001 to 2009. He was faculty of the UP College of Medicine (1990-2006), Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (until 2010) and AIM (2010-2015).

He holds Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (1985), and from Newcastle University UK (1998, Clinical Pharmacology). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and Honorary Fellow of the Singapore College of Physician since 2017 and the President Philippine College of Physicians (2017-2018).

From 2013-2016, he advised the Chair of the APEC's Life Science Innovation Forum (LSIF) executive board. He served as member of the WHO Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety and WHO Advisory Committee on the Safety of Medicinal Products.  He is a member of the Steering Committee of the NUS Initiative for Health in Asia (NIHA), and Expert Panel member of the Center for Regulatory Excellence based in Singapore.  In the mid-2000's he was also President of the Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR) and a founding member of the Laban Konsyumer Inc, an NGO Consumer advocacy organization since 2016.  He sits as Board Member of Cullion Foundation Inc., Equicom Savings Bank, Maxicare Health Corporation, Generika, OML Center for Climate Change Adaptation, CARD MRI BotiCARD Inc, MedGrocer,  and a member of the National Council of Biosafety Philippines.  He is currently the president of the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research Philippine Chapter.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Butch is the President of the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), a private sector disaster management organization that includes many of the major business groups in the country. Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT), his parent company, received the 2016 Prince of Wales Business in Community UPS International Disaster Relief Prize for its work in mobilizing PDRF during Super Typhoon Haiyan. PDRF currently operates the world’s only national private sector Emergency Operations Center.

Butch is also the president of IdeaSpace Foundation, a technology accelerator for early stage startup companies. He heads QBO Innovation Hub, a public private partnership launched to mentor startups. He is concurrently president of Pacific Global One, a firm formed from PLDT’s Aviation Group.

Previously, Butch was First Vice President and Special Assistant to the chairman of PLDT and president of PLDT Smart Foundation. Prior to joining PLDT, he served as Vice President, Communications for TLC Beatrice International, a food company in New York and Paris. He has worked with several New York public relations firms and a financial startup there. Butch was previously president of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce and served two three year terms.

A graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, Butch has an M.A. in Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida. He was a recipient of the College of Journalism’s Alumnus of Distinction award in 2000. He returned to UF in 2003 as the Freedom Forum Distinguished Visiting Professor.

She is a member of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction’s (UNDRR) global Science and Technology Advisory Group (STAG) and its regional counterpart, the Asia Pacific Science and Technology Academia Advisory Group (APSTAAG).  She currently serves on the Science Advisory Board of the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk Center of Excellence-Taipei (IRDR ICoE).

Ms. Yulo Loyzaga is a Trustee of the Zuellig Family Foundation, the Manila Observatory and Ateneo de Naga University.  She leads the Education and Training Theme for UNISDR’s ARISE Philippines and is a technical Adviser to the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF).

Prior to these appointments, Ms. Loyzaga was the Executive Director of the Manila Observatory from 2007-2016 and a Trustee of the Ateneo de Manila University from 2007-2017. During this time, she was a member of the Department of Science and Technology’s Committee on Space Technology Applications and the UNESCO National Commission’s Committee on Science and Technology. Mr. Michael F. Rellosa recently retired as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Fortune General Insurance Corporation. He however continues to serve as its consultant and sits on the board of various other corporations, notable of which is Citystate Savings Bank, a listed company where he chairs the Trust Committee.

Following Mr. Rellosa’s regional stint as Chairman of the ASEAN Insurance Council (AIC) from 2015 to 2016, he still holds the Chairmanship of the Education Committee of the ASEAN Insurance Council (AIC) composed of top insurance industry leaders in the Southeast Asian region.

An AB Economics degree holder from the Jesuit run Ateneo de Manila University, he entered the Insurance Industry straight from College through the Ayala-owned FGU insurance company. He has gone on to other companies in various capacities here and abroad and is active in the lecture and convention circuit as a resource person or invited speaker.

Concurrently, Mitch as he is fondly called by friends and colleagues, has been very active in serving the Insurance Industry through his involvement with various entities in various capacities, notable of which is the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA), the umbrella organization of all non-life insurance companies in the country. He was its chairman in 2010 and 2015, and now its Executive Director. He is also concurrently its Public Relations Committee Chairman and the designated Industry spokesperson.

He is also a regular lecturer at the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific and recently was elected to its Board for the years 2021-2023. A thought leader, he firmly believes in promoting the value of insurance to the Filipino people through various projects and advocacies.

He was engaged by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) as a Research Fellow for the Insurance Industry Regulatory Review on Modernizing Government Regulations.

Recently, he was appointed as the Committee Chair and Priority Area Lead on Re/Insurance, one of the 4 key priority areas of the Arise-Philippines (Private Sector Alliance on Disaster Resilient Societies).

He now writes a monthly Opinion Column for the Manila Times on topics related to Insurance, Risk Management and other topics close to his heart.
